We are still at about 20,000 LEDs this year!
Major elements:
Multi-color LED Strings (~20,000 LEDs): The majority are wide-angle LEDs. There are also some sections with pointed LEDs and dome LEDs (the back yard).
Camping under the pine tree: Santa's camper and a trusty husky have pulled up to the campfire under the pine tree this year..
Tree Farm: It has 8 small Christmas trees using tomato cages wrapped in garland and rope lights. We then added some inflatables to the mix and put it behind our big archway with a wreath at the top. The path leads to the Tree Farm Truck. It is visible in the front picture at the top of the page.
Rainbow Trees: DIY project consisting of 3 - 8ft tall "trees" positioned on our trellis. Each has 100 WS2811 LEDs in strings positioned on them with a rainbow pattern moving it's way down the string. These are custom programs I made using ESP8266 controllers mounted to ESPixel minis. They can be directly controlled from my home automation system instead of just an on/off of their power.
Inflatables: This year saw an additios to the inflatables list, but the retirement of one of our oldest, the Penguins Mailing Letters. In all there are 19 inflatables presently:
- Santa in a Camper
(Affectionately known as the "chucking Santa").
- Gingerbread House
- Tree Farm Truck
- Santa Reading to Reindeer
- Santa on a Sleigh
- Hot Cocoa
- Polar Bears Sledding
- Hello Kitty
- Chipmunk
- Polar Bear Standing
- Elves and Santa Climbing a Ladder
- 4 Christmas Trees
- Dogs Holding a Candy Cane
- Husky Sitting
- Unicorn
- Kitten
Really Big Lights: The RBLs have gotten a more stable home at the porch now. For more information on them, check out their
project page from 2017.

Final picture of Penguins before being taken down due to damage. It is not likely they can be repaired. They are one of our oldest inflatables.
